Meet Makayla
Even in the hardest seasons, we are never meant to walk our path alone. Therapy is a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment or pressure, and without needing to carry everything on your own. My hope is that from the moment we meet, you feel warmth, safety, and the comfort of being truly seen. When life feels overwhelming, having someone walk beside you can make all the difference.
My approach is guided by compassion, grace, and presence. I focus on what you need most, slowing things down and gently exploring your thoughts and feelings so clarity can emerge. I honor your unique story and meet you where you are, whether your healing includes faith, curiosity, or simply the desire to understand yourself more deeply. I believe you already carry resilience and inner wisdom. My role is to help bring those parts forward and support you in releasing what weighs you down. For clients who welcome it, I integrate Christian values into the work. My intention is to create a space where you can breathe, feel safe to open up, and feel supported as you step into your healing.
My Background
I have personally experienced the transformative power of therapy and know what it feels like to be truly seen, supported, and understood during some of life’s heaviest moments. That experience shaped my heart for this work and inspires the space I create for others. Professionally, I have supported children, teens, adults, and families in nonprofit and underserved communities through trauma and life transitions. I also have experience in crisis stabilization, where I supported children, teens, and adults dealing with suicidal ideation.
Areas of Focus
I walk with clients who have experienced domestic violence, justice system involvement, substance use struggles, relational pain, church hurt, and generational patterns that feel hard to break. I support children moving through big life transitions and teens who feel overwhelmed, lost, or unseen. For adults carrying burnout or the pressure to be everything for everyone, I offer a space to slow down, breathe, and return to themselves. Whatever you are carrying, you do not have to carry it alone.
Fun Facts About Makayla
Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my husband, traveling, cooking, baking, and reading. I feel most at peace near the water, whether it is the ocean or a lake. Nature truly gives me space to breathe and reconnect.
I hold deep appreciation for the courage it takes to begin therapy, and I would be grateful to join you as you step into this next chapter. Whenever you are ready, this space is here for you.
