Meet Amanda

Life is stressful, and we all need ways to cope. Sometimes, these coping strategies keep us safe, and sometimes, they keep us stuck. I am passionate about identifying and implementing new and positive patterns that aid our continued development toward wholeness and healing.

My goal is to work myself out of a job, for you to unlock the skills and strategies within yourself that support healthy communication, a strong sense of self, and the ability to trust yourself and your ability to navigate challenging situations.

I draw on a foundational understanding of neuroscience, incorporating theories of attachment and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and shift the thought patterns and habits that hold them back. I provide a space that encourages your strengths and resiliency, leading toward a healthier sense of self and more meaningful relationships.

My Background

I obtained my Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary and now serve as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to this, I studied Youth Ministry and Psychology at Azusa Pacific University. I have worked with adolescents and adults in numerous settings, including education and various ministries. Through my personal, professional, and academic development, I have developed a strong hope in a human’s capacity to grow and heal, regardless of their story.

Areas of Focus

I specialize in working with individuals, both adolescents and adults, who experience challenges limiting relationships and self-efficacy. Whether it is depression, anxiety, PTSD, or ADHD, I believe in your capacity to recognize patterns that limit you and begin to build new, healthy habits. I take a holistic approach and focus on life transitions, family of origin, trauma, emotional regulation, grief, stress management, peer relationships, self-esteem, and identity.

Fun Facts About Amanda

Outside of my practice, I love to read, hike, thrift shop, and cheer on my favorite sports teams. I also enjoy spending time outside with friends and family. Whether we share these interests or not, I look forward to getting to know what makes you unique.
