Meet Paulette

As an English teacher of 25 years, I felt drawn to work in a therapeutic environment as I saw many students after the pandemic struggling to maintain attention and focus due to grief over the milestones they missed. It felt like a natural shift to work in a more supportive and empathetic capacity. In addition, as a certified yoga teacher, I hope to bring clients a sense of acceptance, compassion, and support through listening as well as guiding them in meditation, mindfulness, conscious breathing, and gentle movement exercises to help relieve tension and stress.

My Background

As an intern, I am drawn to Integral Family Systems and Psychodynamic modalities. My role is to listen, hold space, and create a safe and comforting environment for everyone from all walks of life. My hope is that my clients feel seen, accepted, heard, and respected.

Areas of Focus

My focus is on depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. I am here to help clients learn self-regulation techniques and to work effectively with their thoughts and emotions. Also, as an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community, I hope to create a "safe space" for clients exploring their identity and to help all clients who are searching for meaning and purpose in life.

Fun Facts About Paulette

I am a certified yoga instructor, and I love practicing yoga as well. I also enjoy meditation, walks, and spending time in nature. Currently, I have a Master's Degree in English Education, and I am on my way to getting a Master's in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University as well. As a Reiki practitioner, I have done several Reiki trainings and can work with clients in individual sessions. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, drawing, and art; I love good food and cooking (I am a vegan) and enjoy spending time with my loved ones and beloved cats. I look forward to meeting and working with clients from all backgrounds and lifestyles.
