Meet Nicholas

I can't wait to hear your story. No matter what life has thrown your way, I am here to provide a listening ear and support you on this part of your journey. My own experiences with therapy have shown me how hard it can be to seek help and be vulnerable. The healing process is often difficult, and it can require an immense amount of courage to begin. I honor the steps you are taking, and I am glad you are here.

My Background

My journey in the helping field began with working with adolescents and families in a church youth group setting. Seeing the mental health struggles of those living in Silicon Valley and the effects of such high achievement standards led me to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Palo Alto University. During my program, I had the opportunity to provide therapy to students at the schools where I grew up, allowing me to give back to my community in Silicon Valley.

Areas of Focus

I have a passion for working with Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals, LGBTQIA+ persons, adolescents, and adults. I love exploring the complexities of relationships, including multigenerational and multicultural dynamics.

In my work with clients, I use CBT and DBT concepts and exercises to help build positive self-esteem and healthy coping skills. I like to introduce Bronfenbrenner's Ecological Systems Theory as a framework to help individuals and couples identify how different systems affect and shape our identity and mental health. For couples, I also use Gottman Method techniques and practices to build connections, improve communication, and chart a path toward healing. My background in ministry has also equipped me to integrate spirituality and Christian faith into my treatment approach.

Fun Facts About Nicholas

I am a proud dog dad.  I enjoy exercising in order to balance my love of junk food as well as playing video games during my "me time".  My wife and I love binging TV shows and anime when we have the down time.  I am a coward when it comes to spiders and most other bugs, but I am fascinated by ants and religiously watch an ant farming youtube channel every week.
