Meet Joy

We all need a little bit of help, and therapy can be a great source of support in this journey we call life. Whether you are facing anxiety or depression, trauma, or any form of abuse, therapy can be a safe place to process and grow.

My therapeutic approach is integrative. I believe the best approach is what works for you. I am an avid reader and learner, so I am often attending seminars and reading the latest research about effective ways to provide therapy. I have done training in coherence therapy, DBT, EMDR, Flash, Brainspotting, Gottman couples therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. I am also a credentialed teacher and an ordained minister, so adding psycho-education and spiritual care can be incorporated into therapy when desired.

My Background

My other job involves co-leading an anti-trafficking ministry overseas. This role in mission work allows me to walk alongside people in prostitution from many cultures and sit with them in their pain and trauma. I have discovered in practical ways how healing and growth are possible through safe relationships and spiritual care. I also understand what it is like to be an outsider in a new country–to learn a new language (French) and adjust to a new culture.

Areas of Focus

I focus on: adjustment disorders, anxiety, boundaries, burnout, brainspotting, depression, emotional abuse, EMDR & Flash, family of origin issues, childhood wounds, grief and loss, ministers, missionaries, and ministry leaders, spiritual abuse, spiritual direction, stress, trauma, and young adult issues.

Fun Facts About Joy

I am a lover of fruits and veggies, a fan of Gilmore Girls, and an avid learner.
