Meet Dorothy

“Life is like a box of chocolates- you never know what you will get” (quote taken from the “Forrest Gump” movie). You may be going through a challenging life transition or in a season of uncertainty, feeling overextended, lonely, grieving, burnt out, having difficulty with relationships or overwhelmed by your responsibilities and expectations. You are tired and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Therapy is a safe space to find relief, regain control, get to the root of your challenges, and create long-term change, whatever challenge you may be facing.

My Background

My experience and training is focused on healing relationships in areas such as communication, betrayal, parenting and family conflict as well as those working through life transitions and burnout. I have worked in school based counseling and with anxiety, grief and depression related issues. I am also certified in couples therapy through the Gottman Institute.

My passion for helping others grew out of my own struggles and the healing in my own therapy. I use integrative and evidence-based approaches that are culturally, spiritually, and trauma-informed. You will find my approach will empower you to develop tools and skills that foster self-growth and progress. You don't have to do this alone. Contact me to get started with a complimentary consultation.
