Meet Diana

Finding a therapist can be a little daunting. How do you know if a therapist is a good fit for you? There are as many different types of therapists as there are unique individuals, and finding the right person to come alongside you as you’re working through tough issues makes all the difference in your experience. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important piece when it comes to successful therapy.

What kind of therapist am I? I have been told I am empathic, warm, and personable. I am also honest and collaborative; I want to work with you as a team player to help you get closer to where you want to be in your emotional health, mental well-being, and relationships. I believe that we are created as holistic, integrated, and relational beings, and our minds, emotions, and sensations can be powerful sources of both pain and joy in our lives. My goal in our sessions is for you to feel seen, heard, and comfortable to be yourself. My hope is that you feel cared for when you walk away from my office, knowing that you are valued and worthy of care.

My Background

I am a second-generation Taiwanese American, and I grew up in the Bay Area. I was an elementary school teacher for many years before feeling called to help people in a different capacity. I am currently a graduate student at Western Seminary. Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by how people think, behave, and feel. At the end of college, I debated between becoming a therapist or a teacher, but I felt that teaching would better fit what I was looking for in a job at that time (Ok, and I didn’t want to go back to more years of schooling at that time, too!). Now, I feel as if I’m coming full circle by pivoting back to counseling as a second career. I believe that everything has its own timing, and I think the life experiences I’ve accumulated have helped me become a better therapist now than I would have been many years ago!

Areas of Focus

I have a passion for working with children, families, individuals, and couples. Some of the topics that I have an interest in are women’s issues, premarital couples, relationships and communication, identity and meaning, family of origin, cultural/generational issues, transitions, perfectionism, stress/burnout, anxiety, and depression. However, I am open to exploring any issues you may want to discuss!

Fun Facts About Diana

A few things I love: food and drinks, the ocean, house plants, organization/planners, and 90’s and 2000’s Hip Hop and R&B. I enjoy cooking, baking, crafting, trying new restaurants, traveling, working on DIY design and home projects, yoga, and spending time with my husband and dog. I love hearing people’s stories and backgrounds, and I would love to hear yours.
