Meet Jack

It has been my experience that we do all of our best growing in relationships, which is why I aim to acknowledge and be present to all the parts of you that show up in therapy; whether we talk about certainty or seeking clarity, whether you grieve in silence or recall the moments of your life in fondness, my ultimate goal as your therapist is to bring about transformation through a process of being genuinely known.

I believe therapy helps individuals find language for their unique thoughts, emotions, and experiences, allowing them to more effectively connect with others and navigate the complexities of life with increased awareness, resiliency, and joy.

My Background

I am a third-generation Chinese American who grew up in both San Jose and San Francisco, getting to know the vibrant, diverse culture of the Bay Area. For most of my life, I knew I wanted to work with people in intimate settings that helped shape their lives in powerful ways. After training to counsel youth, volunteering to be a companion for individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and experiencing hardship that resulted in going to therapy myself, I decided to devote the next chapter of my life to hearing others’ stories and being blessed to sit with them as they test those stories, and perhaps, write themselves a new one.

Areas of Focus

We can focus on whatever you would like during our time together. However, I do have a special heart for grief work, individuals with special needs, children of divorced parents, and helping clients develop healthy boundaries. I also work with adolescents and couples, as well as individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and recovery from trauma.

Fun Facts About Jack

I own a functional typewriter collection that I use to journal and write poetry. I also enjoy all things culinary, especially creating and consuming specialty coffee.
