Meet Joshua

Are you burnt out, running on fumes, or wondering if there could be more to life than the stress and anxiety you’re currently experiencing? Do you often feel overwhelmed by your emotions, struggling to find balance and peace? Or maybe you wish to build stronger, more meaningful relationships but find something is holding you back?

If these questions resonate with you, you’re not alone, and you don’t need to walk through life alone. In our work together, I will walk alongside you, at your pace and in a safe space, to understand your unique life story, identify your strengths, and work on ways to feel in control of your life once again.

My Background

An integral part of starting your journey of transformation and healing is choosing the right person to work with. My work in the helping profession began as a paraprofessional, with one-on-one sessions with kids with moderate to severe autism. This experience unveiled the extensive impact of stress, burnout, shame, and guilt not only on the kids I was working with but also on their siblings, parents, and families as a whole. I also realized that just because someone doesn’t say anything does not mean that they’re not struggling to get through each day.

My journey into therapy was inspired by a simple yet profound belief: everyone deserves to be heard. Throughout my years of experience, I have cultivated a space where voices, often silenced by shame, fear, or doubt, can emerge and be acknowledged. It is in the sharing of these hidden stories that healing begins.

Areas of Focus

Since 2018, I have specialized in working with kids, teenagers, and young adults.

I am passionate about guiding children and teens to develop a stronger sense of identity, enhance emotion regulation skills, manage stress effectively, and improve communication skills. Through my time as a school counselor, at both the middle school and elementary school levels, I have gained experience working with children and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, academic stress, self-harm, friendship and bullying concerns, and processing multicultural identity issues. Many of these issues can be scary to talk about and even scarier to share with loved ones. If your child is struggling with any of these issues, please reach out to me to see how I can support you or your child.

I am also passionate about working with young adults. If you've been carrying the weight of unspoken struggles, know that you don't have to bear them in silence any longer. Together, we can give a voice to your experiences, uncovering strength and resilience you may not have realized you possessed. Please reach out, and let’s embark on this journey to healing, hand in hand, as you find the courage to speak your truth.
