Do you ever find yourself wishing that life would give you a heads up before sending in, what sometimes feels like, a “never ending storm”? Me too! Hi, I’m Maaike, human first, therapist second, and I can’t wait to meet you and hear your story. I know right now, it may seem like the sun at the end of the storm is so far away or even nonexistent, but I hope to help you in rediscovering it.

When you decide to embark on this journey, you can expect to find yourself sitting across a person who fully welcomes clients from all backgrounds. In your work with me, I hope to create together, a safe, yet insightful environment; allowing you to feel comfortable enough to explore and process some of life’s most challenging moments. Your story is just as unique as you, so while I am trained in a variety of effective treatment modalities, I will be sure to individualize them to you and your needs during our time together.

My therapy style is very much human-to-human, versus therapist-to-human. I see my clients as whole people, therefore my work with you will be through a holistic approach; taking into account the mind, body, spirit, and emotions that come with being human. You will be met with grace, empathy, and encouragement as you learn more about yourself and unlearn what no longer serves you. I am so excited and ready to join you in this season of your life as you rewrite your story and find healing, clarity, and growth through self-compassion.

Born and raised in California, Maaike graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from SJSU. In her free time, Maaike loves watching Netflix, taking pictures of all things beautiful, and trying things she’s never tried before. She takes pride in her faith and helping others rewrite their stories into ones they are proud of.
