Janie uses a holistic approach to help women and adolescents discover their true identity and live into the best version of themselves. She works with family of origin issues, self-esteem, parenting, anxiety, depression, grief and life transitions, and spirituality. Janie also enjoys working with parents, as she is a Trained Independent Facilitator of the ‘Parenting the Love and Logic Way’ Curriculum.
Janie is being trained in the powerful healing modality of Brainspotting and is passionate about connecting the brain and the body to clear emotional pain and trauma.
Brainspotting is a leading edge trauma resolution therapy that holds the possibility of releasing psychological trauma by working with a place in the body and in the brain where a trauma is held. It is a specialized treatment method for individuals with a history of trauma and those who feel they are not progressing as they would like to in traditional treatment approaches. Janie is working towards certification and she is currently in a consultation group with a Certified Brainspotting Trainer.
Janie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Master’s degree at Western Seminary. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Calvin College in Michigan and then worked as a Youth Pastor for several years followed by Sales in a Distribution Company. Janie is a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Janie enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking. She is married and has three teenage children.
