Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Northwest University – Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology
University of Washington – Bachelor of Science – major: cellular/molecular biology
Areas of Focus:
Children, adolescents, and adults with patterns of anxiety, depression, and/or adjustment difficulties
Grief/loss, particularly as it pertains to the aging process and death
Jeremy began providing counseling at Christian Counseling Center, Inc. as an MFT intern in 2005 and has practiced as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2011. While he has experience supporting a broad range of clients with a variety of presenting concerns, the particular focus of his work is two-fold:
1) adolescents (and/or their families as indicated), and 2) elders (and/or their families as indicated).
For many, adolescence is a period of developmental and existential challenges. Particular such challenges might include:
– managing the balance of responsibility and freedom
– peer influences
– relationship with parents
– substance use
– identity and social interactions
– use of technology and social media
Diagnostic considerations, trauma, grief, and family structure changes (e.g. separation, divorce, etc.) can add further complexity to the life of the adolescent and their family.
Jeremy also has a great passion for and experience in supporting elders (persons 65 years of age or older). While older age can be a very vibrant and fulfilling time of life, it can also be one in which particular challenges come to bear. Jeremy has provided clinical support to elders and family members (as indicated) in both private practice and agency settings.
